Re: Not what it seems
by Grayson
I had a chance recently to step back into MSM for a week or so after Katrina. It was as if nothing had changed, attitude-wise, since I left MSM in ‘93. Yes, still plenty of bright, nimble minds hard at work, but still the same puzzlingly bad attitude. Blogs and bloggers were dismissed, arrogantly at times, in the midst of the biggest national disaster story in memory. Yet MSM leadership would steal story leads and ideas from blogs right and left. It was an ugly sight to behold. MSM still thinks of itself as TicketMaster to World 'O Information. It's rather sad to see them flay about so. They still feel their deep financial resources have bought them a unique level of credibility. Perhaps that is so, but woe to the entity that thinks that will always be the case. Right now, all that money seems to have bought MSM is a fatal case of entitlement-itis. And Anderson Cooper -- whew!
