Like water or air, we take the continued functioning of the web for granted.  It started off as a (very serious) hobby for academics, and now it's like breathing -- it's essential.  Maybe we could celebrate it by all taking a day off -- simultaneously -- from using it. 

What would that be like?   

The web evolved so quickly that it's become an invisible utility without our even noticing.  The next day, after we took the day off, we'd be floored by just how different the world has become.
